Shillong: Dr Donkupar Roy, Speaker of Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, passed away today in Delhi.
Dr Donkupar Roy, was hospitalised in Medanta Hospital Gurugram since the 18th July 2019 for diabatese treatment but breathed his last today at 2PM. According to reports, Dr Roy, was kept in ICU from the day he was admitted in the Hospital.
Dr Donkupar Roy is the MLA from Shella Constituency and he has been elected from the Constituency since 1988 continously and he has served the Constituency for almost 31 years. Dr Donkupar Roy, was borned on the 10th November 1954 and passed away at the age of 65.
His body will be taken to Shillong tomorrow morning by a special flight.
In a press release, Dr Andrew Simons, Commissioner & Secretary Meghalaya Legislative Assembly said that his body will be flown from Delhi in the wee hours of the 29th July 2019 and brought to his official residence and then will be taken to his native village at Shella, on the 30th July 2019.
