Shillong: The Parliamentary Party (PP) meeting of United Democratic Party (UDP) which was held on monday evening of July 5th 2019 has appointed Metbah Lyngdoh as a new parliamentary party chief after the recent demised of late Dr Donkupar Roy.
Speaking to the reporters, education minister Mr Lahkmen Rymbui said, the decision to appoint Mr Metbah Lyngdoh as a Parliamentary Party leader was taken at the party’s council meeting today. The meeting was attended by the 8 MLAs of UDP, i.e. Metbah Lyngdoh, Lahkmen Rymbui, Brolding Nongsiej, Kyrmen Shylla, Pius Marwein, and 2 others independently associated MLAs SK Sunn & Samuel Sangma.
When asked about the post of party president, Rymbui said the party will hold a series of meeting in the near future to decide about the same.
